Snowed Inn Apartments is looking for a new manager! Girls housing located by Porter Park, you would pay $550 a month for a 2 bed, 1 bath apartment, or $350 a month + 20 hours of work per week. 1 to 2-year commitment necessary. If interested, contact Hayley at hayleydawnjorgensen@gmail.com

Liz Chapman's baby sister is getting married in March, and the young couple is looking for an apartment in the ward! If you know of any openings, please contact Melissa Whittaker at melissajo.whittaker@gmail.com

Visiting teaching assignments have changed! If you're not sure who you teach, you teaches you, or who your partner is, contact Kaylin McOmber.

- MISCELLANY -

Liz Chapman has officially published a book of poetry! It's been a long journey, but as of yesterday afternoon, her book is available for purchase online. She's working on getting copies available in a few places around Rexburg, but in the meantime, you can buy a copy here. It will also be available on Amazon Kindle soon.

T-Bird Hartner has coordinated temple attendance. Every week in Relief Society, a clipboard will be passed around where you can sign up to attend an endowment session at the temple. You can go with friends, with T-Bird, or on your own, and she'll text you to remind you.

BYU-Idaho has an "Understanding Same Gender Attraction" group on campus. Those interested in attending meetings to show love and support and to gain greater understanding of their brothers and sisters are welcome. Talk to Liz about meeting times and places.

Are you available to babysit? We'd like to put together a babysitter contact sheet here on the blog, with names of those who can watch your kids! That way, young moms can just visit this site for babysitters. Comment on this blog if you'd like to be included as a potential babysitter, along with your availability. Because this is a public blog, we won't include phone numbers--just look folks up on the ward directory.

- SPIRITUAL THOUGHT -

"Under the definition of 'Temple' in the Bible Dictionary, we read the following: It is the most holy of any place of worship on the earth, followed by this insightful statement: Only the home can compare with the temple in sacredness. For me this suggests a sacred relationship between the temple and the home. Not only can we turn the doors of our homes to the temple, or the house of the Lord; we can make our homes a house of the Lord."

- SPIRITUAL THOUGHT -

"Gratitude is a Spirit-filled principle. It opens our minds to a universe permeated with the richness of a living God. Through it, we become spiritually aware of the wonder of the smallest things, which gladden our hearts with their messages of God's love. This grateful awareness heightens our sensitivity to divine direction. When we communicate gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine influence."

January 13

Heather Hitchcock is putting together a just-for-fun basketball team! Come to the BYU-I Center every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm to join in.

BYU-Idaho has an "Understanding Same Gender Attraction" group on campus. Those interested in attending meetings to show love and support and to gain greater understanding of their brothers and sisters are welcome. Talk to Liz about meeting times and places.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT OF THE WEEK:
"Jesus said, 'Without me ye can do nothing.' (John 15:5). I testify that that is God's truth. Christ is everything to us and we are to 'abide' in Him permanently, unyieldingly, steadfastly, forever. For the fruit of the gospel to blossom and bless our lives, we must be firmly attached to Him, the Savior of us all, and to this His Church, which bears His holy name. He is the vine that is our true source of strength and the only source of eternal life. In Him we not only will endure but also will prevail and triumph in this holy cause that will never fail us."
--Jeffrey R. Holland ("Abide in Me," Ensign, May 2004)
